Medical Email Support Specialist

My private practice’s inbox now averages dozens of patient-related messages every day, and I need a dependable specialist to keep the flow running smoothly. The core of the assignment is straightforward: monitor the shared mailbox during clinic hours, draft clear, empathetic replies, and make sure every inquiry is properly logged in our electronic medical record system before the end of each shift.

You will be working exclusively with protected health information, so meticulous attention to HIPAA compliance is essential. Experience with common EMR platforms (we currently use Athenahealth) and a solid grasp of medical terminology will help you hit the ground running. I will provide templates for the most frequent scenarios, along with escalation guidelines for anything that needs clinical review.

Deliverables I will review daily:
• Inbox zero by close of business, with all messages categorized and time-stamped in the EMR.
• A brief activity report summarizing handled topics and any items escalated.
