Mechanical Machine Design Engineer

I have a machine concept that now needs to move from idea to a fully detailed, build-ready design. Your task begins with translating the functional requirements I’ll supply into a clear set of mechanical specifications, then developing a complete 3D CAD model, refined assemblies, and production drawings.

I expect iterative collaboration: you share updated models and exploded views, I give feedback, and we lock each stage before progressing. SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo would suit hand-off well, but let me know if you have another platform you work fastest in. If critical load cases appear during modelling, please run the necessary FEA and adjust geometry or materials so the design can be manufactured with standard CNC, sheet-metal, or fabrication processes.

Deliverables
• Native CAD files plus STEP/IGES exports
• Fully dimensioned fabrication drawings (ISO tolerances)
• Annotated bill of materials with material and finish specs
• Brief design-rationale and analysis report

Acceptance criteria
• Assemblies show zero interference and verified fastener access
• Components meet stated tolerances and are practical for common manufacturing methods

When you reply, include two or three examples of previous machines you’ve designed and note the CAD software you prefer. If you can also support prototype build coordination, tell me and we’ll discuss that as a separate phase.
