I’m a first-year M.Arch student and could really use an experienced voice beside me as I navigate studio culture. My biggest pressure points are the design projects that culminate in pin-ups and reviews, so I’m looking for someone who can step in throughout the process—shaping initial concepts, sharpening plans and sections, and advising on both physical and digital model making.
My workflow is anchored in Adobe (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), but I’m happy to lean on AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Revit if that speeds us up or helps clarify an idea. Strong hand-sketching and compositional instincts are a must; quick red-lines and diagrammatic sketches often communicate more than another paragraph of notes.
Here’s what I imagine for our collaboration:
• Live screen-share or desk-crit style sessions 1–2 times a week, adjusting around submission crunches.
• As-needed mark-ups on PDFs of plans/sections, plus guidance on model strategy (physical or digital).
• Targeted prep the day before each pin-up—layout sequencing, hierarchy of drawings, and verbal framing so I tell a clear design story.
To keep things simple, please reply with:
1. Your U.S. Master of Architecture alma mater and year of graduation.
2. A brief note on studios or courses you’ve taught/mentored.
3. Typical availability in my time zone (EST).
4. Your hourly rate.
Looking forward to learning from your expertise and turning the next round of reviews into wins.
