I need hands-on help finalising the configuration of our Linux-based industrial gateways that sit on board commercial vessels. The gateways are already built into our monitoring platform; the job is about tightening up their field readiness rather than starting anything from scratch.
The immediate milestone is remote commissioning. Over the next four weeks I want each new unit to boot, establish a secure MQTT link, pull its TLS certs, and start streaming CAN/J1939 and NMEA data to our cloud broker without manual intervention. If you have brought similar hardware online before, you know how valuable clear-cut configs and repeatable scripts are to installers working at sea.
Key areas we will tackle together
• MQTT broker connection details, authentication and automated cert renewal
• TLS certificate generation, storage and rotation on the device
• CAN bus and NMEA interface mapping, message filtering and rate management
• Creation of a reproducible image or playbook so units can be flashed and verified remotely
I will provide shell access to a staging unit, current config files, and sample data frames. Your deliverable is an updated configuration set (or Ansible/Bash scripts if you prefer) that I can load on a fresh gateway, power up in my lab, and see connect cleanly all the way through to the cloud dashboard.
The first assignment is paid and bounded to one vessel class. If we nail that, there will be follow-on work as the fleet expands.
