I need a nanotechnology specialist who can reliably synthesize MnFe₂O₄ nanoparticles that exhibit strong magnetism and are specifically suited for magnetic separation in wastewater treatment. My core objective is to test their ability to capture and remove heavy metals—lead, arsenic, and chromium—from contaminated water, then recover them quickly and cleanly with an external magnet.
You may use co-precipitation, hydrothermal, solvothermal, or another reproducible wet-chemistry route, provided the final particles are phase-pure spinel, reasonably monodisperse (≤30 nm preferred), and magnetically responsive enough to separate from a 50 mL sample within seconds under a handheld neodymium magnet.
Deliverables
• 5 g of dry MnFe₂O₄ nanopowder, vacuum-sealed and labeled
• A concise synthesis protocol with all reagent grades, concentrations, times, and temperatures
• Characterisation report (TEM/SEM for size and morphology, XRD for phase confirmation, VSM or SQUID for saturation magnetisation, and ICP-OES or EDS to verify elemental ratios)
• Brief test data showing at least one batch’s removal efficiency for Pb²⁺, As⁵⁺, or Cr⁶⁺ at ppm levels, plus the recovery time under magnetic field
Acceptance criteria: ≥90 emu g⁻¹ saturation magnetisation at room temperature, and ≥80 % removal of one listed heavy metal within 30 min contact time.
Please confirm your available synthesis facilities, typical turnaround time, and prior experience with ferrite or magnetic oxide nanomaterials when you respond.
