M&A Prospect Research & Appointment Setting Specialist

We are looking for a proactive and resourceful M&A Researcher / Business Development Specialist to identify, qualify, and engage potential acquisition targets based on a defined Investment Profile.

The objective is straightforward: build a high-quality MQL pipeline of companies that meet our acquisition criteria and convert qualified prospects into scheduled discovery calls.

This role goes beyond basic research. The right candidate will be responsible for identifying relevant businesses, validating their fit against our investment requirements, initiating outreach, and securing conversations with owners, founders, or key decision-makers.

Primary Objectives
Build a targeted and qualified M&A prospect / MQL list based on the provided Investment Profile.
Identify and engage business owners and key decision-makers.
Schedule qualified M&A Discovery Calls with interested prospects.

Scope of Work
Research potential acquisition targets within the technology sector based on predefined investment criteria.
Validate each prospect against key qualification requirements before outreach.
Identify appropriate owners, founders, executives, or other relevant decisionmakers.
Conduct outbound outreach through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate channels.
Introduce the acquisition opportunity professionally and assess initial interest in exploring a potential transaction.
Schedule discovery calls with qualified and interested prospects.
Maintain accurate prospect information, outreach activity, conversation notes, sentiment, and next steps in the CRM.
Provide warm handoffs to the M&A team once a qualified prospect agrees to further discussions.
Successful Outcome

A successful engagement will produce a consistent pipeline of well-qualified acquisition prospects that closely match the Investment Profile and result in scheduled conversations with business owners or decision-makers who are genuinely open to discussing a potential transaction.
