Looking for a strong graphic designer to join on a full-time or monthly contract basis, creating thumbnails, social graphics, and explainer visuals for a growing brand focused on health, performance, and deep-dive storytelling. This role is ideal for someone who understands that a thumbnail is a headline, that clarity beats decoration, and that a good diagram can carry an entire idea.
Role overview
Design high-CTR YouTube thumbnails: concepting, cut-outs, compositing, colour, and typography, with variants for testing.
Produce social graphics across Instagram, LinkedIn, and X: carousels, quote cards, infographics, and announcement assets.
Build explainer visuals for video and written content, turning complex health and science ideas into simple, accurate diagrams and charts.
Create supporting assets: newsletter headers, lead magnets and PDFs, presentation decks, channel art, and website graphics.
Maintain and extend the brand system: colour, typography, spacing, and reusable templates that keep everything consistent.
Core requirements
Strong experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and Figma for layout and template systems.
A portfolio that shows real thumbnail work, not just general graphic design, with an understanding of what reads at small sizes.
Excellent typography, hierarchy, and layout instincts; you can make a busy idea look calm.
Solid photo editing: clean cut-outs, compositing, retouching, and colour matching.
Ability to build clear data visualisations and infographics from raw information.
Comfortable using AI image tools (Midjourney, Firefly, or similar) for concepting and asset generation, without letting output look generic.
Organized with files: layered, named, versioned, and easy for someone else to pick up.
Nice-to-have
Experience in health, wellness, science, or educational niches.
Basic motion design in After Effects for animated versions of static assets.
Experience A/B testing thumbnails and reading CTR data to inform the next round.
Work structure
This is a full-time or structured monthly contract role (not a per-project freelance gig). Remote position; you can work from anywhere, as long as you can meet deadlines and align for feedback windows.
Expected output covers thumbnails for every video published, plus a consistent monthly volume of social and supporting assets. The mix may shift based on content strategy, but the overall monthly workload will remain consistent.
Compensation
Fixed monthly contract amount or full-time structure.
Salary/retainer will be discussed during the interview and will depend on your experience, portfolio quality, and speed of delivery.
What to include in your application Please send:
A portfolio link, with 3 to 5 pieces you are proudest of, including thumbnail work if you have it.
One example of a complex idea you made simple visually, with a line on the brief behind it.
A short note on your process and the tools you use (Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, AI tools).
