I already hold the raw data—what I need now is a proper back-end database (cloud-based or on-prem, I’m open to advice) that feeds a live-connected Excel workbook. As soon as the source table is updated, the spreadsheet must refresh automatically and present clean, ready-to-use results: totals, KPIs, and any other summaries we define together.
Here’s how I picture the flow:
• You set up the database, import the starting data I’ll supply, and expose it through a reliable connection—ODBC, Power Query, or a similar method that keeps Excel synced in real time.
• You build the workbook structure: connections, queries, and the formulas or Power Pivot measures required to calculate the recurring reports.
• Once finished, I open the file, hit refresh (or watch it auto-refresh), and my numbers are instantly up to date without manual copy-pasting.
Deliverables
1. Configured database with my sample data loaded.
2. One Excel file wired to that source, populated with automated calculations and labeled clearly so I can extend it later.
3. A brief step-by-step note explaining how to refresh, add new records, and adjust calculations.
If you have experience marrying Excel with SQL, MySQL, Azure, or similar platforms and can make the refresh truly seamless, let’s talk.
