We're a small startup building job-search tools for international students and working professionals in the US, including people on OPT, STEM OPT and H-1B visas.
The work
We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented freelancer for manual LinkedIn research and outreach on an ongoing, part-time basis (about 5-6 hours a day). We'll start with a 1-week paid trial. If it goes well, we'll continue on an hourly basis here on Freelancer.
What you'll do
- Research LinkedIn to find people in the US who have said they're looking for jobs: international students and recent graduates (OPT, STEM OPT) and working professionals on H-1B visas who are looking for a new role
- Send personalized connection requests each weekday ( staying within LinkedIn's limits), adapting message templates we provide
- Reply to people who respond and keep conversations going, using the information we provide
- Track your outreach in a spreadsheet we provide
- Send a short weekly summary through Freelancer chat
Timing
The people we're reaching are in the US, so we prefer most of your hours to be during US hours (evening and night India time). Research and tracking can be done whenever suits you.
What we're looking for
- Your own LinkedIn account that you're comfortable using for this work (we will never ask for your login details)
- Good written English
- Available about 5-6 hours a day, preferably during US hours
- Manual work only: no automation tools, bots or scraping, and no bulk messaging
- Nice to have: outreach or lead-generation experience; familiarity with international students and H-1B professionals in the US
Trial week (hourly, up to 30 hours)
1. Research 150 relevant profiles on LinkedIn (a mix of students and H-1B professionals) and log them in the spreadsheet
2. Send personalized connection requests each weekday using our templates
3. Reply to people who respond
4. Share a short summary at the end of the week
The trial week is capped at 30 hours. After a successful trial, we'll continue hourly with a weekly hour limit agreed with you, based on your availability and results. All payments will go through Freelancer. We'll share full details and templates with the freelancer we hire.
