KDP Formatting, Upload & Publishing Guidance

My nonfiction manuscript is complete—260 pages across 18 chapters, three tables, a bibliography, and an index. The interior PDF is already navigable, fully proof-read, and the cover is finalized. A free PDF edition will appear on Zenodo under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, while the Kindle and print-on-demand versions will be sold on Amazon.

I now need the entire KDP process handled from end to end. That means converting the existing PDF into a clean, professional paperback file and a Kindle edition, uploading both to my KDP dashboard, and walking me through every configuration step: title setup, metadata, Creative Commons notice, pricing, keywords, categories, and worldwide distribution. The goal is to have the book available in every marketplace KDP supports, not just Amazon.com.

For the interior, I’d like the pagination—including the bibliography and index—to stay aligned with the current PDF if possible, so readers can move seamlessly between versions. Internal links, table formatting, and front-matter navigation all need to survive the transition.

Deliverables
• Press-ready paperback PDF that meets KDP print specifications
• Kindle file (reflowable or fixed as you advise) validated in Kindle Previewer
• Successful upload of both editions to my KDP account with global territories enabled
• A brief hand-off session or screencast showing the settings chosen so I can replicate them on future titles

Experience with Kindle Create, Kindle Previewer, and typical print-layout tools (InDesign, Affinity, or similar) is essential. Please outline recent KDP titles you have taken from formatted manuscript through live listing, and let me know how you handle preserving complex elements like indexes in both formats.
