Internal System Requirements Definition

I want a skilled business analyst to capture and formalise the full set of requirements for a new internal business system that will streamline our finance operations and embed practical AI capabilities from day one.

The scope centres on two pillars:
• Finance – everything from transaction processing and reporting to audit trails and inventory-related data. Mainly supply
• AI enablement – we need clear, realistic use-cases (forecasting, anomaly detection, rules-based automation, etc.) documented so developers can build or integrate the right models later.

You will start by mapping our current finance workflows, pain-points, and data sources, then run stakeholder workshops to uncover must-have, should-have, and nice-to-have features. From there, translate findings into a concise, implementation-ready requirements package.

Deliverables
1. Current-state process maps and gap analysis
2. Business Requirements Document (BRD) with user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability matrix
3. High-level solution outline showing AI touch-points, data flows, and security considerations
4. Prioritised feature backlog with effort/impact estimates
5. Presentation deck summarising recommendations for executive sign-off

Plain English, structured templates (e.g., IEEE or BABOK style), and the ability to test requirements against compliance and finance standards are essential. Familiarity with tools such as Visio / Lucidchart for diagrams and JIRA / Confluence for backlog management will help keep everything transparent for our internal tech team.
