Project Overview:
I’m looking for an experienced developer (or no-code expert) to build a web and mobile-friendly app for my brand, Weave & Whimsy. The app will allow crochet users to upload purchased pattern PDFs and convert them into an interactive, easy-to-follow pattern tracker.

This project is inspired by the functionality of the “Overlay Mosaic Crochet” app, but will include additional features such as PDF importing and a cleaner, more modern user experience.

User Workflow:

I create and upload crochet patterns to Ravelry
Customers purchase and download the PDF
Users open the Weave & Whimsy app and import their PDF
The app processes the PDF into structured data
Users access an interactive pattern viewer
Users track their progress row by row

Core Features Required:

1. PDF Processing (Key Feature)

Upload and process crochet pattern PDFs
Extract row/round instructions, stitch counts, and formatting
Detect and convert chart/grid data where possible
Convert data into structured, usable steps
Fallback to clean text instructions if parsing is incomplete

2. Interactive Pattern Viewer

Toggle between written instructions and chart view
Clickable/tappable rows
Highlight current row clearly
Smooth navigation between rows

3. Left-Handed / Right-Handed Mode

Toggle to switch handedness instantly
Mirror charts horizontally for left-handed users
Adjust row direction indicators
Maintain correct stitch order
No page reload required

4. Progress Tracking

Mark current row
Navigate forward/backward
Display “Row X of Y”
Show percentage complete
Save and resume progress

5. User Accounts & Library

User sign-up/login
Personal pattern library
Home screen with:
Continue current pattern
Recently opened patterns
Full library

6. Pattern Page

Pattern title (auto or editable)
Original PDF reference
Interactive viewer
Saved progress

7. Error Handling

Graceful fallback if PDF parsing fails
Manual tracking still usable
No blocking errors for users

8. Performance Requirements

Handle large patterns efficiently
Chunked loading (e.g., 20 rows at a time)
Avoid rendering large grids all at once

Design Requirements:

Clean, modern, soft UI
Easy to use while actively crocheting
Brand colours:
#E67A9C
#F24578
#FFACC0
#FFFFFF
Rounded elements and high readability

Preferred Skills:

Experience with PDF parsing / OCR / AI extraction
Frontend UI/UX for interactive tools
No-code tools (Bubble, FlutterFlow) OR full-stack development
Experience building data-driven or interactive apps

Nice to Have (Not Required):

Experience with crochet, knitting, or craft apps
Experience with chart/grid rendering
Familiarity with Ravelry or similar platforms

Goal:
Create a smooth, intuitive app that makes crochet patterns easier to follow by allowing users to visually track their progress, switch handedness instantly, and always know exactly where they are in their project.
