I have an upcoming infrastructure project and need a precise material-based quantity takeoff so I can lock in vendors early. The scope covers every major discipline on the drawings—concrete and steel for the super- and sub-structure, all earthwork and aggregate requirements, plus piping and electrical runs.
You will work from the issued IFC drawings (PDF/DWG) and provide a clearly organised Bill of Quantities. Spreadsheets should be set up so each item can flow straight into my cost model: separate tabs or sections for structural concrete, reinforcement, formwork, backfill, sub-base, ducts, cable trays, conduits and ancillary fittings. Wherever possible, reference the sheet number, gridline and detail so I can cross-check quickly.
Deliverables
• Editable Excel (or Google Sheets) BOQ with summed totals and unit conversions already handled
• Underlying measurement sheets or marked-up takeoff files from PlanSwift, Bluebeam or similar, showing how each quantity was derived
• Short methodology note outlining assumptions, waste factors and any missing information you needed to estimate
Acceptance criteria
• All quantities traceable back to drawing call-outs
• No line item variance above ±2 % when I perform random check measurements
• File formats open without licence errors on standard desktop software
If you have recent experience on roads, bridges or utility corridors and are comfortable juggling multiple drawing revisions, you’ll be able to hit the ground running. I’m ready to share the full drawing set and required coding structure as soon as we agree on timing.
