I am ready to bring my literacy-focused brand to life with an e-commerce site that sells a hybrid catalogue of titles and branded merchandise, then grow it into a future bricks-and-mortar location.
Core experience
• Books: the shop must handle a mixed inventory—fiction, non-fiction and children’s titles—while letting me flag any title as a “custom order” so readers can personalise their purchase (special covers, gift wrapping, note inserts, etc.).
• Merchandise: include separate product lines for clothing that carries my logo and for bookmarks or other book accessories. Each needs its own size/variant controls, stock tracking and image gallery.
• Community: I want a built-in book club area where members can join discussions tied to specific titles. This space should sit behind a simple registration gate and allow text posts, image uploads and moderator control.
Site requirements
– Modern, mobile-first storefront with fast search, category filters and clear checkout flow
– Secure payment gateway integration (credit/debit, PayPal, Apple/Google Pay)
– Customer accounts with order history and wish-list
– Coupon/discount engine so I can run literacy-themed promotions
– Easy product-upload dashboard; no code needed for day-to-day updates
– SEO-friendly structure and schema for books (ISBN, author, genre)
– Scalable architecture so I can add book reviews, ratings or author interview pages later without a rebuild
– Reporting that breaks out books vs. merchandise sales
Deliverables
1. Fully configured live store on my chosen host or platform (Shopify, WooCommerce or a comparable solution you propose)
2. Custom theme reflecting my brand palette, typography and logo placement
3. Book club module deployed and tested with sample discussion threads
4. Payment, tax and shipping rules set for initial launch markets
5. Admin hand-over guide (video or PDF) plus two weeks of post-launch support
Acceptance criteria
• I can add a new title, assign “custom order” options and see it appear correctly in the storefront within five minutes.
• A test purchase of a T-shirt and bookmark processes end-to-end, logging separate SKUs in the dashboard.
• Book club registration, posting and moderation all function under normal user permissions.
If this sounds like the build you excel at, let’s create a seamless online home that inspires the curious and celebrates reading from day one.
