About Platform:
ThePaper.in is a new publishing network for independent journalists, writers, researchers and creators. Writers publish stories, build a professional profile that works like a live portfolio, and get discovered by publishers who post paid assignments. We've just launched, and our first goal is to grow a community of quality contributors, mostly from India.
The goal of this role:
Bring more writers to ThePaper.in. Success means more contributors signing up, completing their profile and publishing their first story. Likes and followers alone don't count.
What you'll do:
Build a social media plan to reach writers, journalists, bloggers, students and researchers in India.
Create and post engaging content on LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and other platforms where writers gather, such as Facebook groups and Reddit writing communities.
Promote our Founding 100 Contributors launch offer: the first 100 contributors who publish an approved story earn ₹250 in gift cards.
Showcase stories and writers published on ThePaper.in, to show the quality of the platform.
Engage with writing communities, journalism groups and student media in a genuine way, not spam.
Use tracked links (UTM links), so we can see which posts bring sign-ups.
Share a short weekly report: what you posted, what worked, and the sign-ups it brought.
What we're looking for:
Based in India (preferred), with a good understanding of the Indian writing, media or student community.
A proven record of growing an audience or community, ideally with examples of real sign-ups or leads, not only followers.
Strong written English. Hindi or another Indian language is a bonus.
Comfortable creating simple graphics and short videos (Canva or similar is fine).
Familiar with LinkedIn and Instagram growth, and community-friendly promotion on Reddit and in groups.
Bonus: experience with journalism, publishing, education or creator platforms.
How we work:
Remote and flexible. You manage your own schedule.
Communication: a short weekly check-in, and messages for quick questions.
