ABOUT US
Gratto is a premium laser hair removal and beauty studio opening in November 2026 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Our brand blends luxury with warmth: clients should feel like they're at a friend's home.
THE PROJECT
We need a fashion/apparel designer to create our uniform collection: a clinical line (scrubs) and an operations line (polos, shirts, t-shirts). It must look like a capsule collection from a fashion brand, not generic medical or corporate uniforms. Final deliverable: approved designs and production-ready tech packs. Manufacturing is handled separately by a local factory.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
- Fashion first: tailored fits, clean drape, tailoring details (darts, design seams, hidden pockets). Instagram-worthy.
- Minimal and tonal: short palette, ideally monochrome or tone-on-tone. Discreet branding.
- Warm, not clinical: no surgical blue/green or stark clinical white.
- One visual family across both lines.
- Retail-brand details: custom woven neck label, side flag label with our icon, hang tag.
- References (attitude, not to copy): FIGS / Jaanuu scrubs, Hedley & Bennett hospitality uniforms, Aesop store staff.
- Avoid: prints, large back logos, big text, baggy medical cuts.
LINE 1 – SCRUBS (laser, brow/lash, nail and waxing technicians)
Worn 8–10 hours/day in a tropical climate (30°C, high humidity), with frequent contact with wax, oils, acetone, nail polish and alcohol. Women's fit and men's/unisex fit.
- Top: fitted, short sleeve with design hem; V-neck, wrap or mandarin collar (propose). 2–3 pockets incl. hidden phone pocket and pen slot. Hip length.
- Pants: jogger or straight leg (propose both); elastic + drawstring waistband; 4–6 discreet pockets incl. thigh cargo; adjustable or cuffed hem.
- Optional: light cropped jacket or soft blazer for the laser specialist.
- Requirements: 4-way stretch, breathable, wrinkle-resistant, withstands frequent 60°C washes and wax/oil stains. Stain-hiding colors for nail and waxing areas. Nothing dangling near laser equipment.
LINE 2 – OPERATIONS TEAM (front desk/sales, management, support, events)
- Polo: fine jersey or piqué, knitted collar, no buttons or 2 hidden buttons. Fitted, not golf-style.
- Shirt: long roll-up sleeve or short-sleeve camp collar (propose); mandarin or soft classic collar; must look good untucked.
- T-shirt: heavyweight cotton, boxy or modern regular fit. Designed to double as brand merch.
- Optional proposals: apron for nail/waxing, metal name pin, event cap.
BRANDING PLACEMENT (logo + icon, per our brand manual)
- Scrub top: icon on left chest, tone-on-tone embroidery, 5–6 cm. Optional name on right chest.
- Scrub pants: icon on back pocket or thigh, 3 cm, embroidery or woven tab.
- Polo: icon on left chest, tone-on-tone embroidery, 5 cm.
- Shirt: icon on chest or cuff, 3–4 cm embroidery.
- T-shirt: small logo on front (8 cm); icon or tagline on upper back (propose). Screen print or embroidery.
- All pieces: full logo on woven neck label; icon on side flag label (2–3 cm).
- No full-color sublimation or oversized logos.
FABRICS (suggested – alternatives welcome if available for production in the Dominican Republic)
- Scrubs: poly/rayon/spandex (approx. 72/21/7), antimicrobial, fluid-repellent, 160–200 gsm
- Polo: pima cotton or performance blend, 180–200 gsm
- Shirt: stretch cotton 97/3 or linen-cotton, 110–140 gsm
- T-shirt: 100% combed cotton, pre-shrunk, 220–240 gsm
Colors from our brand palette (shared with the selected freelancer): 1 main + 1 alternate per line, with Pantone TCX codes and thread codes for embroidery.
Sizes: XS–XXL, women's and men's/unisex, with graded measurements.
