The Graphic Designer is a top-level production designer in the studio. With prerequisite knowledge of production standards and ways of working, the Graphic Designer is an integral part of the production team; working on a diverse variety of projects from kickoff to final delivery but is additionally responsible for the design work on all higher tier projects, print and digital. This requires more refined design skills, and more comprehensive understanding of and ability to produce high quality print and digital design.

This role requires both creative and technical skills as well as process management expertise. The Graphic Designer must be an expert in production design, creative production techniques, as well as have an eye for good, intentional design, sometimes requiring a “blank sheet” start to a design task or project.

The Graphic Designer works closely with the Creative Director, Studio Manager, and Account/PMO.

What does a day in the life as a Graphic Designer look like?

Principal artists for all Tier-3 print and digital design under Creative Director’s guidance

Serve as creative leads on specific high tier projects from concept to final delivery

Provide continuing mentoring and design-specific education to production artists/and partners via one-on-ones and presentations

Manage and prioritize high tier projects

Complete assigned design/production tasks, from concept to final delivery

Design original artwork, including ads, coupons, and POS promotions

Produce hi-fidelity digital comps/layouts for responsive microsites

Refine/retouch/clip and mask images

Review and follow client brand standards and guidelines

Collaborate internally to conceptualize and execute creative solutions that can be translated across various media platforms

Work with account and design teams to ensure deadlines are met

Stay up to date with industry tools and trends

Prepare creative concepts and present to management and PMO/Account teams for collaboration and approval

Apply pre-press modifications to artwork to meet defined production specs

Maintain and support library of creative/client assets

What are the required qualifications of a Graphic Designer?

Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equally relevant experience

4+ years as a professional graphic designer/production artist

Must possess experience working on a MAC platform and be highly proficient with Adobe CC apps and Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Powerpoint, Excel)

Practical experience with marketing design concepts, brand standards

Print production experience is required- understanding of CMYK/spot color, special effects, substrates, and packaging of trouble-free deliverables to varying specs

Can prioritize tasks and complete projects on time

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

Experience with training Individuals and groups on technical processes and software and techniques

Able to work without supervision

Organized and efficient multitasker

Sales and/or customer service experience

A decisive decision maker

A people person with excellent interpersonal skills

Experience with managing Project Management Software

Ability to manage multiple projects at once

Portfolio is required

Demonstrated experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
