Title: Conduct 6 audio-recorded interviews with Google Pay for Business merchants in India (Hindi/English/Telugu)
Description:
I’m running a user research study on how small shop owners in India use the Google Pay for Business app, the merchant app shops use to receive UPI payments with a Google Pay QR standee or SoundPod.
I need a freelancer based in India to find and interview 6 real merchants and send me the audio recordings.
Who to interview (all 6 must meet this):
Shop owners, or the person who registered the shop, who currently use the Google Pay for Business app to receive payments.
Personal Google Pay users don’t qualify. Shops that only use PhonePe, Paytm or BharatPe don’t qualify either.
A mix is preferred:
different shop types (kirana, food or tea stall, medical, salon, mobile, clothing)
some who joined in the last 6 months and some long-time users
at least 1–2 who also use other payment apps
What you’ll do:
Find 6 qualifying merchants, in person or by phone.
Read the short consent script I provide and get their verbal “yes” on the recording.
Ask my 10 questions (I’ll share the guide in Hindi and English with follow-up prompts). Each interview takes 10–15 minutes.
Record the audio only, in clear quality, close to the speaker.
Fill in a short profile sheet for each merchant (shop type, city, using the app since, other apps used).
Topics covered: how they found the app, registration and agent verification, trust, features they use, problems, unmet needs and customer support.
Deliverables:
6 audio files (.m4a or .mp3), named like Merchant1_kirana_Pune.m4a
6 completed profile sheets
Optional: a photo of the shop’s Google Pay QR standee or SoundPod, with no faces or phone numbers
Proof the merchant really uses Google Pay for Business: a photo of their Google Pay QR standee or SoundPod at the counter, or a screenshot of the app’s home screen with names, numbers and amounts hidden.
Important rules:
Real merchants only. No scripted, rehearsed or staged interviews. Recordings will be checked, and fake or coached answers won’t be paid.
Don’t record or share merchants’ phone numbers, PAN, UPI IDs or full names.
Merchants must agree to the recording.
Language: Hindi and English or Telugu, or a regional language with a short English summary for each interview.
Timeline: all 6 recordings by Saturday, 17 Oct 2026, 8 PM IST.
