I’m embarking on a focused study of Generative AI and modern chatbot architectures and I need a thorough yet concise review of the state-of-the-art research in this area. Your assignment is to track down the most relevant peer-reviewed articles, preprints, and authoritative industry white papers, then distill their findings into an insightful narrative that highlights current capabilities, common techniques, emerging trends, and open challenges. No model building or data analysis is required—this project is strictly about surveying and synthesising existing work.

What I’m after
• An annotated bibliography (APA style) of roughly 25–35 key sources published within the last three years, grouped by sub-theme (e.g., transformer optimisations, prompt engineering, conversational safety).
• A polished summary report (≈ 3,000 words) that explains core ideas in plain language, compares approaches, and pinpoints research gaps worth exploring next.
• A brief slide deck (10–12 slides) capturing the headline insights for non-technical stakeholders.

How to stand out
When you respond, emphasise your experience conducting academic or technical literature reviews—particularly in artificial intelligence or natural-language processing. Concise examples of past review work are far more valuable to me than a generic proposal.

I’ll be available throughout the project for clarifications and will provide template files for the bibliography and the slide deck once we get started. Let’s create a clear snapshot of where Generative AI chatbots are today and where the research community is heading next.
