PDF CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS TO EDITABLE AUTOCAD DWG + REVISIONS
We are looking for an experienced architectural CAD technician/draftsperson to recreate two existing sets of professional construction drawings from PDF into clean, professionally structured and fully editable AutoCAD DWG files.
The drawings relate to two phases of an existing commercial facility and include architectural and MEP drawings.
Approximate areas:
* Phase 2: ~3,150 sq. ft.
* Phase 3: ~810 sq. ft.
SCOPE OF WORK
1. PDF TO EDITABLE DWG
* Accurately recreate the supplied PDF drawings in AutoCAD.
* Maintain the original dimensions, scale, layout and drawing content.
* Create clean, professionally structured and fully editable CAD drawings.
* Use appropriate layers, line types, line weights, hatches, editable text, dimensions, symbols and blocks.
* Include all necessary Xrefs, blocks and supporting files.
* Provide corresponding PDF plots from the completed DWGs for comparison with the originals.
The method used to recreate the drawings is at the freelancer's discretion. However, raw or minimally cleaned automated PDF-to-DWG conversions will not be accepted.
The completed DWGs must be suitable for another professional architect/engineering team to efficiently continue working from them.
2. MODIFICATIONS TO EXISTING PLANS
Some portions of the existing plans will need to be removed or modified.
The required changes will be provided through written instructions and/or marked-up drawings. The freelancer will be expected to implement these changes accurately and update affected dimensions, annotations, schedules and related drawing information as necessary.
3. SUBSEQUENT DRAWING REVISIONS
The freelancer should remain available to implement reasonable subsequent drawing revisions based on instructions/markups provided by us and/or our appointed local architect/engineers.
This may include revisions arising from comments received during the local regulatory review process.
The freelancer will not be responsible for independently determining building-code compliance, making regulatory/design decisions, or obtaining approvals. These responsibilities will remain with our local professional team.
Substantial redesigns, significant new drawings, or material expansion of the original scope may be quoted separately with our prior approval.
DELIVERABLES
* Fully editable AutoCAD .DWG source files.
* Professionally organized layers with logical naming.
* Correct units, dimensions and scale.
* Editable text and dimensions.
* Appropriate use of blocks, polylines and standard CAD objects.
* All Xrefs, blocks and supporting files.
* Updated DWG files following agreed revisions.
* Corresponding PDF drawing sets.
The DWG files must be clean and professionally structured. Files consisting primarily of fragmented/exploded PDF geometry, converted text outlines, disorganized layers, or otherwise poorly editable conversion output will not be accepted.
Final acceptance is subject to technical review of the DWG files by another professional.
PROJECT MILESTONES
MILESTONE 1 - PAID TEST DRAWING
One representative/complex drawing from the actual Phase 2 or Phase 3 package will be selected and recreated as a fully editable DWG.
The test drawing will be technically reviewed for accuracy, CAD structure, organization and editability. If it passes technical review, the completed test drawing will form part of the final project deliverables and we intend to proceed with the same freelancer for the remaining drawings.
MILESTONE 2 - PHASE 3
Complete reconstruction of the Phase 3 drawing package and agreed initial modifications.
MILESTONE 3 - PHASE 2
Complete reconstruction of the remaining Phase 2 drawing package and agreed initial modifications.
MILESTONE 4 - FINAL REVIEW & REVISIONS
Final CAD corrections and reasonable revisions following technical review and/or instructions from our local professional team.
