Fire Protection Engineer - Modular Steel / Aluminum Building System
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
STEEL ONE requires an early fire-safety and code-compliance strategy for potential load-bearing and
non-load-bearing modular cage-block systems using metal frames and varied exterior skins.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Identify applicable fire-resistance, exterior-wall, material and occupancy considerations for target
jurisdictions and building types.
• Assess implications of exposed steel/aluminum, coatings, insulation, cavities and cladding materials.
• Recommend pathways for rated assembly development, firestopping and joint protection.
• Specify likely fire tests, evidence and approvals needed for commercialization.
• Coordinate required protection strategies with structural and enclosure specialists.
EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Preliminary code applicability and fire-risk memorandum.
• Fire-performance requirements matrix by assembly type.
• Recommended testing / evaluation and approval roadmap.
• List of unresolved assumptions and coordination decisions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Fire protection engineering qualifications and relevant building-code experience.
• Experience with exterior wall assemblies, structural fire resistance and modular construction.
• Knowledge of relevant fire tests and certification pathways.
• Licensure appropriate to any site-specific professional approval required.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit examples of related code/fire-performance assessments, qualifications, availability and a concise workplan.
PROJECT TERMS
Remote collaboration; initial scope is a milestone-based paid engineering study. Specify your fee and timeline.
All output should be clearly labeled by revision. Confidentiality and intellectual-property assignment terms will be agreed before detailed technical disclosure.
