# Medical Imaging & 3D Reconstruction Software Developer for AAKR

--Project Overview

I am seeking an experienced developer or small team to build a complete, secure, ready-to-use software application for **AAKR — “A memory takes shape.”**

The goal is to convert suitable fetal medical imaging data into recognizable, full-body 3D fetal models. I am open to a web application or installable Windows desktop software. Please recommend the most cost-effective option, considering development, hardware, hosting, security and maintenance.

**This project requires specialist medical-imaging and 3D-reconstruction expertise, not just general app development.**

## 1. Core Features

The application should:

- Import and process suitable fetal imaging data.
- Reconstruct a full-body 3D model, including the head, torso, arms, hands, legs and feet wherever supported by the source data.
- Preserve visible anatomy, proportions and natural fetal posture as accurately as possible.
- Provide a rotatable, zoomable 3D preview.
- Identify poor-quality scans and clearly flag estimated or reconstructed regions.
- Export models in STL, OBJ and 3MF formats.
- Scale models using reliable measurements when available.
- Validate and clean the resulting 3D geometry.
- Automatically delete uploaded scans and associated files after 30 days.
- Provide a simple interface for authorized hospital personnel.

The final deliverable must be a working, tested application—not merely a prototype or demonstration.

## 2. Imaging Inputs and Feasibility

Please assess support for:

- **3D/4D ultrasound** — preferred initial pathway.
- **Fetal MRI** — additional pathway.
- DICOM and NIfTI files.
- JPEG, PNG and other common image formats where feasible.

Ordinary 2D images may not contain enough depth information for accurate full-body reconstruction. The software must communicate these limitations rather than present invented anatomy as scan-derived.

The intended coverage is pregnancy months 2–9. Please assess feasibility at each stage, particularly early pregnancy, and explain the required scan quality, expected accuracy and limitations.

I do not currently have sample scans. You will need to identify legally usable research datasets and verify that they contain sufficient information for the intended reconstruction. Disclose dataset sources, permitted uses and license restrictions.

## 3. Technical Approach

I am open to reusing proven tools, libraries and pretrained models where their licenses permit the intended commercial use.

Potential technologies include Python, DICOM/NIfTI libraries, 3D Slicer, ITK/SimpleITK, VTK, PyTorch, MONAI and suitable mesh-processing tools.

Please recommend an appropriate architecture and distinguish proven capabilities from features requiring research. A processing time of 5–10 minutes would be desirable, but accuracy and reliability take priority over speed.

## 4. Web vs Desktop

Please compare both options and recommend the lowest-cost practical solution.

**Desktop application: ** Windows installation, local processing where practical and clearly stated hardware requirements.

**Web application: ** Browser-based access, secure accounts and permissions, suitable processing infrastructure, and transparent hosting and storage costs.

Compare initial development, hardware, recurring costs, security, maintenance and future expansion. Do not assume either option is cheaper without evaluating the workload.

## 5. Security and Data Deletion

The application must include:

- Secure individual accounts and administrator-controlled access.
- Appropriate protection for sensitive medical data.
- Automatic deletion of scans and associated files after **30 days**.
- Documented handling of temporary files, caches, backups and third-party services.
- A tested deletion process and appropriate deletion records.
- No transfer of scans to external AI services or third-party servers without prior written approval.

Any exceptions to the 30-day deletion policy must be disclosed and agreed in advance.

## 6. Additional Geometry

A future feature is to combine the reconstructed model with a transparent, rounded outer geometry and optional integrated text or logo geometry.

Please identify whether this can be implemented reliably and quote it separately if it significantly increases development complexity.

## 7. Development Milestones

Please propose a staged plan with separate deliverables for each phase:

**Milestone 1 — Feasibility**
- Identify suitable datasets and existing tools.
- Assess ultrasound and MRI feasibility.
- Review licensing requirements.
- Demonstrate a credible reconstruction pathway using suitable data.
- Document technical risks, hardware needs and limitations.

**Milestone 2 — Core reconstruction**
- Implement the agreed initial imaging pathway.
- Generate and demonstrate a recognizable full-body model.
- Report output quality and processing performance.

**Milestone 3 — Application development**
- Build the agreed web or desktop application.
- Implement the preview, agreed export formats, access controls and 30-day deletion.
- Complete the other agreed features.

**Milestone 4 — Testing and handover**
- Complete agreed acceptance tests.
- Deliver the working application, source code and documentation.
- Demonstrate installation or deployment.
- Complete the agreed intellectual-property handover.

## 8. Final Deliverables

The completed project must include:

- Fully working, tested application and installer or deployment package.
- Complete source code and build files.
- Installation, configuration and troubleshooting instructions.
- User and administrator documentation.
- Agreed reconstruction, preview and export functionality.
- Tested 30-day data-deletion mechanism.
- Test results, sample outputs and documented limitations.
- Dataset provenance and third-party software licence inventory.
- Required credentials and configuration materials under the client's control.
- Written intellectual-property assignment and agreed exclusive commercial-rights documentation.
- A defined post-delivery defect-correction period.

The application must run in the agreed environment without undocumented dependencies or ongoing developer intervention for ordinary use.

## 9. Ownership and Confidentiality

The contractual objective is to secure exclusive commercial rights to custom-developed code and project-specific intellectual property, to the maximum extent legally available.

The agreement should cover the rights to use, modify, maintain, license and commercially distribute the software, and to appoint other developers for future maintenance.

All third-party code, pretrained models, datasets and license conditions must be disclosed. Any components that cannot be exclusively owned must be identified before approval.

A written NDA and development agreement will be required. Patent assessment or filing is a separate legal matter and must not be assumed to be included.

## 10. Required Experience and Application Questions

Preference will be given to developers with demonstrable experience in medical imaging, ultrasound or MRI processing, anatomical segmentation, 3D reconstruction, mesh processing and secure software development.

Please answer these questions in your proposal:

1. What relevant medical-imaging and 3D reconstruction projects have you completed? Please share examples where permitted.
2. Have you generated full-body anatomical models from ultrasound or MRI data?
3. What technical approach and datasets would you recommend?
4. What are the main feasibility risks and limitations?
5. Which tools and pretrained models would you use, and what are their license conditions?
6. Would you recommend web or desktop software, and why?
7. What hardware and recurring operating costs would be required?
8. What timeline and deliverables do you propose for each milestone?
9. Will you provide complete source code, documentation and the agreed IP assignment?
10. What warranty and post-delivery support do you offer?

Please provide a clear proposal with your recommended approach, timeline, assumptions and exclusions.

## Final Objective

Deliver a secure, commercially usable AAKR application that reconstructs recognizable full-body 3D models from suitable fetal imaging data, with preview, agreed export formats, controlled access, automatic 30-day deletion, complete source code and documentation, and the agreed exclusive commercial rights.

**Technical honesty, proven specialist experience, maintainability and cost transparency are essential.**
