I have a vibrant fantasy setting and the broad strokes of the storyline mapped out, yet my cast still feels more like placeholders than people. Over the next four weeks I’d like a seasoned fiction specialist to partner with me on character creation and story development, turning rough notes into living, breathing heroes, villains, and supporting figures who can carry multiple books.
Here’s how I picture the collaboration working:
• You receive my current synopsis, world-building notes, and the rough character list on day one.
• You return detailed profiles for each principal character—back-story, motivations, arcs, internal/external conflicts, voice cues, and unique quirks—plus a relationship web that shows how they interact.
• We refine together through one or two revision passes, ensuring each character’s growth aligns with the plot beats I already have.
Acceptable file formats are flexible: Word, Google Docs, or Scrivener exports all work. If you prefer character-mapping software such as Campfire or Plottr, let me know; I’m open to whatever tool accelerates the process.
The full suite of final profiles and the relationship map should be wrapped up no later than one month from project start. If this timeframe fits your schedule and you relish crafting memorable fantasy characters, I’d love to see samples of your previous work or a short pitch on how you approach character development.
