I’m building a friendly, private space on Android where parents, siblings, and close friends can stay in touch without the clutter of today’s big networks. The core of the product is a reliable messaging system that handles both text and multimedia (photos and short videos), so everyone can share moments as they happen.

I already have the visual concept sketched out and a basic user-flow in mind; what I need now is an experienced Android developer who can turn that vision into a smooth, secure, and well-architected application. Kotlin (or modern Java) with Android Studio is preferred, and I’m leaning toward Firebase for real-time chat, user auth, and image storage, but I’m open to equivalent solutions if you can justify the choice.

Key goals for this first milestone
• Functional chat screen that sends and receives text, images, and video clips in real time.
• Simple sign-up / login (Google or email) with secure Firestore or similar back-end.
• Basic profile page where users can update a display name and avatar.
• Clean, maintainable code with clear comments and a short setup guide so I can run the project locally.

If you’ve shipped social or chat apps before and know your way around push notifications, offline caching, and modern Android UI patterns (Material 3 / Jetpack Compose is a plus), I’d love to see your work and discuss timelines.
