Zoho CRM + Zoho Books Integration with CSIO Insurance Data Standards (Canada)

Project description

We're a [brokerage / MGA / insurance-related business] in Canada looking for an experienced Zoho developer to integrate Zoho CRM and Zoho Books with data exchange standards from CSIO (Centre for Study of Insurance Operations). The goal is to remove manual re-keying across client records, policy data, and accounting. Policy and carrier data should flow into the CRM, and the financial side (invoices, payments, commissions) should flow through to Zoho Books.

Scope of work

Review our current Zoho CRM and Zoho Books setup (modules, custom fields, chart of accounts, workflows) and recommend a mapping to CSIO data elements
Build the integration using Zoho APIs (CRM and Books), Deluge, webhooks, and/or Zoho Flow or middleware as appropriate
Support the CSIO transactions we use (e.g., policy download, client/policy data exchange, quoting, eDocs; to be confirmed during discovery)
Map and transform incoming and outgoing data (XML/JSON) to and from Zoho CRM modules (Contacts, Accounts, Deals, custom Policy modules)
Sync CRM records with Zoho Books: customers/vendors, estimates, invoices, payments, and credit notes, with a single source of truth for client and carrier data
Support brokerage accounting workflows such as premium billing, commission tracking, and reconciliation of carrier commission statements against policies in the CRM (specifics to be confirmed during discovery)
Handle Canadian tax requirements (GST/HST/PST as applicable) and multi-entity or multi-currency needs if relevant
Build validation, error logging, duplicate detection, and retry logic across both systems
Test in Zoho sandbox environments before deployment to production
Document the integration and hand over the code, mappings, and configuration

Deliverables

Discovery summary, field-mapping document, and CRM-to-Books data flow diagram
Working integration in sandbox, then production
Test cases and results, including accounting reconciliation checks
Technical and user documentation
Short walkthrough session (video or call) and 30 days of post-launch support

Required skills

Zoho CRM customization and API development (REST API, Deluge, Zoho Flow)
Hands-on experience with Zoho Books API and CRM-to-Books integrations
XML/JSON transformation and data mapping
Familiarity with CSIO standards or Canadian insurance broker systems (e.g., broker management systems, carrier download files)
Understanding of accounting basics (invoicing, payments, reconciliation, Canadian sales tax)
Strong documentation and communication skills

Nice to have

Prior work with insurance brokerages or carriers, including commission or trust accounting
Knowledge of PIPEDA and data privacy requirements for client and financial data
Experience with middleware (Make, Workato, custom Node/Python services)
Familiarity with Zoho's native CRM-Books integration and where custom work is still needed
