I’m building a dataset that will teach household robots to recognise and replicate real-world routines, and I need first-person video captured while you carry out typical chores at home.
The core activities I’m after are:
• Cooking (meal prep, stove work, plating)
• Tidying (picking items up, wiping surfaces, putting objects away)
• Laundry (loading, unloading, folding, storing)
• Other everyday “whole-house” tasks that naturally fit into the above sessions
Please record with a smartphone secured in a comfortable head mount. If you already own a GoPro or another action camera you may use it, but the phone rig is my preferred format because it keeps the optics and metadata consistent across contributors. Natural, well-lit environments are ideal; no staged studio lights are required—just record exactly how you normally work.
Deliverables
1. Raw, unedited video files in the highest native resolution of your device (minimum 1080p, 30 fps).
2. A brief text note per file stating task, room, and approximate duration.
3. Confirmation that everyone appearing on camera has consented to be filmed.
Acceptance criteria
• Camera remains head-mounted from start to finish, showing both your hands and the workspace.
• Each clip covers a complete task segment (e.g., full meal prep, full laundry load).
• No background music or personal information that could breach privacy.
Upload the finished files via a shared drive link; I’ll review and let you know if any extra takes are needed. Let’s capture authentic household moments that can push home robotics research forward.
