I have several inter-linked workbooks and online data feeds that I touch every day just to move numbers around. My goal is to turn those repetitive copy-paste moments into a single click (or, better yet, a scheduled trigger).
Here is what needs to happen:
• Incoming data arrives from two places—other Excel / Google Sheets files on my drive and web-based sources such as forms, emails, or a small business system’s export. This data must be imported, cleaned, and combined automatically.
• Once the raw data is refreshed, the file should generate polished reports, invoices, and concise summaries without manual intervention.
I’m comfortable if you achieve this with VBA macros, Google Apps Script, Power Query, or any mix that suits the environment; the key is reliability and minimal maintenance on my side. Clear, well-commented code or scripts and a short hand-off guide are mandatory so I can tweak small items later.
Deliverables considered complete when:
1. A single action (button or timed trigger) fetches and cleans the latest data from every listed source.
2. Reports and invoices populate in their designated tabs or PDFs with correct formulas, formatting, and date stamps.
3. No errors appear when the solution is run on both Windows Excel and Google Sheets versions of the file, or a justified explanation is given if platform-specific features are required.
If this sounds like a straightforward challenge for you, let’s automate my workflow and reclaim those hours.
