I have an existing Excel and Google Sheets file that needs a thorough clean-up. The task is focused squarely on fixing missing, incorrect, and inconsistent information so every record is reliable for reporting and analysis. Duplicates are largely under control; your attention will be on standardising formats, filling gaps, and correcting any values that don’t add up. You’ll be working directly in both Excel and Google Sheets, so fluency with tools such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, conditional formatting, ARRAYFORMULA, and data validation is essential. Feel free to use whichever functions you prefer, provided the final workbook runs smoothly in either platform. Deliverables: • A fully corrected spreadsheet with consistent date, text, and numeric formats • A brief change log (or separate tab) outlining what was corrected and any items that still need clarification • Built-in validation or error-checking formulas left in place for future updates Acceptance criteria: • No mandatory fields left blank • No conflicting values in key columns • All formats standardised exactly as agreed (e.g., dates in YYYY-MM-DD) If you’ve handled similar cleanup projects before, let me know your approach and share a relevant example. I’m looking forward to handing this dataset over to someone who can return it in pristine, analysis-ready condition.
