I need to move a batch of mixed text-and-number records into Excel, tidy them up, and have that single source feed a polished Word report. The workflow I have in mind is straightforward:
• Enter or import the raw data into an Excel workbook, organising it so every new row is immediately reflected in summary tables, pivot charts and any calculated fields.
• Add light automation (formulas, Power Query or a small VBA macro—whatever is simplest) so the workbook refreshes at the click of a button.
• Link that workbook to a Word template that produces a print-ready report containing both tables/charts and narrative sections with bullet points. When the data changes, the report should update without manual copy-and-paste.
Deliverables will be the finished Excel file and the connected Word document, both fully tested with sample data so I can see the automated update in action. If something can be done more efficiently, feel free to suggest it as you build.
