Excel Date & Text Cleanup

I need a tidy-up pass on an existing Excel workbook. Two things have to happen:

1. Every date column must have the month-and-year extracted into its own field (for example, “15/04/2024” should become “Apr-2024”). Please preserve the original date values so the sheet continues to calculate correctly.

2. Text columns contain stray leading or trailing spaces. Those spaces have to be trimmed so that look-ups and pivots work properly, while leaving all other characters intact.

Feel free to use formulas, Power Query, or a lightweight VBA routine—whatever is quickest and still keeps the file fully editable in Excel 2016 or later. Send me back:

• The cleaned workbook with both the original and the newly formatted columns visible
• A short note (or worksheet tab) outlining the exact steps or code you used, so I can repeat the process on future data drops.

Once I can reproduce your method and the sheet shows the correct month-year values with all text fields trimmed, the job is done.
