I am seeking a freelancer to write well-commented template that turns an Adafruit Feather ESP-32 single board computer into a tiny WebSocket server. Later I will expand that template into a mini OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) server and add more functionality. The target board is the Adafuit ESP32-S2 Reverse TFT with a ST7789 display.
The deliverable is a tiny compile ready package on the complexity of the example at https://m1cr0lab-esp32.github.io/remote-control-with-websocket/parts-and-wiring/
* Boots up and serves out a small HTTP web page for testing.
* Each browser client can send a number to the tiny server via websockets.
* The tiny server stores each number persistently.
* The tiny web server flashes each received number on the built in TFT display.
* The tiny web server returns the total number of numbers logged back to the browser clients, which they all display at once.
Requirements
* Real human output. No AI. No Vibe. If you need AI help to build this, this is not a good match.
I value
* Keeping dependencies under control, not too many
* Setting it up for further development in an IDE .
* Very reliable operation, able to handle from 0 to 100+ websocket connections at once.
* Able to store collected session data from the websocket events, reliably for up to 1 year.
* Reliability, maintainability, and application of experience over first time cost. This should not be your first production level ESP32 project.
* Decent ability to communicate in English and/or German.
What's important
* Freelancer is able to describe WHY they chose each library over other competing libraries.
* Freelancer will describe which IDE or tools to use for ongoing development (Arduino 2, VSCode/PlatformIO, Expressif IDE, etc) and why.
The target language is C++, though you could make an argument for CircuitPython if you wanted.
