I own the GOG release of Empires: Dawn of the Modern World and want to enjoy it on my Surface Laptop 13.8″ running Windows 11 Pro on a Snapdragon X2 Elite @ 4.03 GHz. Right now the game installs, reaches the main menu, then freezes completely—occasionally it just sits on a black screen.

Here is what I have already tried without success:
– Compatibility mode set to Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows XP
– DXWND, dgVoodoo, and every forum-recommended DirectX/registry tweak I could find

I need someone who can:
• Identify why the title stalls on this ARM-based Windows 11 machine and apply the right wrapper, patch, emulation layer or config change
• Hand me a repeatable solution and any required files so I can reinstall or move the game later without hassle
