I run a small, UK-based research institute that investigates everything from emerging science and technology to pressing social issues. To reach the wider general public, I want to turn our findings into compelling screen projects—both documentaries and reality-style formats—but I have zero filmmaking background.

Right now I’m preparing a funding bid that will cover pre-production R&D. I need someone who can sit beside me during this early phase, shape raw ideas into viable concepts, and package them for financiers. Student-level experience is welcome; if you also bring a solid track record or industry contacts, all the better.

What you’ll actually be doing
• Brainstorm and refine story angles rooted in our science/tech and social research.
• Draft treatments, loglines, episode outlines or series bibles suitable for documentary film and reality TV pitches.
• Advise on research methods, contributor casting, shooting styles and practical production workflows.
• Build provisional budgets, schedules and any visual mood boards or teaser material that strengthen the application.
• Help weave our academic credibility into an engaging narrative voice that resonates with mainstream audiences.

Success for me means having a polished funding proposal—complete with creative deck, R&D plan and indicative budget—that can confidently land us development money. If collaborating at this foundational stage excites you, I’m ready to start immediately and move quickly toward submission deadlines.
