Project Overview:
A 5-year-old child in Iraq has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). We are looking for a dedicated researcher to find top global medical institutions, figure out logistics and costs, search for treatment funding, and conduct direct outreach on behalf of the family. (Full parental consent has been granted to share medical records).
Core Deliverables:
- Global Hospital & Center Mapping: Research top worldwide hospitals, universities, and specialized clinics treating DMD and rare genetic diseases.
- Cost & Visa Logistics: Compare estimated treatment costs, local living expenses, and visa application pathways for Iraqi citizens for each target country.
- Funding & Foundation Search: Identify rare disease grants, charitable foundations, corporate funds, and clinical trial options that subsidize or cover high treatment fees.
- Direct Outreach & Middleman Communication: Use a provided dedicated email address to send inquiry emails, track replies, request funding options, submit required medical documents (e.g., DNA and blood test results), and schedule meetings if requested.
- Working Master Spreadsheet: Maintain and share an organized comparative sheet in real time showing all target institutions, outreach dates, status, cost comparisons, and funding notes so there is full visibility.
Workflow & Timeframe Expectations:
- Day 1 will be research and outreach heavy. Subsequent days over a ~30-day window will require lighter, ongoing effort (checking emails, following up, organizing incoming replies, and updating the spreadsheet).
- Medical institutions often take days to respond, so patience and persistent follow-up are key.
- You will be starting fresh with your own verified research list.
Provided Tools & Assets:
- Webmail credentials for dedicated outreach.
- Full patient medical records, DNA analysis, and blood test results ready to attach to institutional inquiries.
Budget & Terms:
- Fixed Project Budget: $25 USD total milestone for the complete research, outreach management, and final report delivery over the project duration.
