Discord Welcome Bot Automation

I need a small Discord bot whose sole job is to greet every new member as soon as they join. The greeting must be posted automatically in a channel I specify—no DMs, no public tag, just a clean welcome message that appears in the chosen channel the moment the user arrives.

Core requirements
• Automated response: welcome message triggered on “member join”
• Channel selection must be easy to change from an admin-only command or a simple config file
• Written in either discord.js (Node) or discord.py—use whichever you are faster with, but keep the code clear and well-commented
• Host-ready: include instructions for running the bot locally and on a VPS or Heroku-style environment
• Environment variables for the token and any keys—no hard-coding

Acceptance criteria
1. I invite the bot to a test server, set the welcome channel, and watch it greet arriving test users within two seconds.
2. No other messages or commands fire unless I add them later.
3. README covers setup, required libraries, and how to alter the welcome text or channel.

Hand-off deliverables
• Full source code in a private Git repo or zipped folder
• README / setup guide
• Brief note on extending the bot with additional automated responses in future
