Desktop Script for API Integration

I need a small desktop-side program—language is flexible, though Python or C# would be ideal—that focuses on one job: connect reliably to a specific website’s public API, pull down data on demand, and display or store it locally. The script does not need a full GUI; a clean command-line tool or lightweight window is fine as long as the connection logic is solid.
Key goals
• Handle authentication (simple token) and retry logic so intermittent network hiccups do not break the workflow.
• Parse the JSON responses, then either save them to a local file (CSV or SQLite) or print to screen—whichever is faster for you to wire up.
• Keep the code well-commented; I will be extending it later.
Deliverables
1. Source code with clear setup instructions.
2. Brief README explaining required libraries and how to run the tool.
3. A short demo video or screenshots proving the connection works with sample data.
If you have previous experience scripting desktop tools that talk to REST APIs, this should be quick work. Let me know which language you prefer and your rough turnaround time, and we can get started right away.
