I have an Excel workbook filled with numbers pulled from different sources, and I need every column to behave like a true numeric field before I can rely on it for my monthly reports. Your job is to go through the sheets, strip out stray characters, convert any values stored as text, standardise decimal and thousands separators, and flag blanks, obvious outliers, or entries that refuse to cooperate.
Feel free to use the tools you know best—Power Query, formulas, VBA macros—so long as the finished product remains a standard .xlsx file that refreshes smoothly in PivotTables and plays nicely with simple SUM or AVERAGE formulas.
Deliverables
• A clean, calculation-ready Excel file (.xlsx)
• A brief change log summarising the key fixes and any rows or cells that still need my input for final decisions
Acceptance criteria
The workbook must open without validation errors, refresh my sample pivot table without complaints, and return consistent results when basic aggregate formulas are applied across all numeric columns.
