DALI Lighting Controls Consultant — Residential Design and Remote Commissioning

I’m building a new house of approximately 3,000 sq ft in Ireland and am looking for an independent consultant to help design and configure a DALI lighting control system.

I have floor plans and a room-by-room lighting group schedule. I need a practical, cost-conscious design with clear instructions for my local electrician, followed by programming and remote commissioning support.

Proposed setup

* DALI control of dimmable lighting, switched lighting and selected lamp sockets.
* Conventional retractive switches, likely Forbes & Lomax, connected through suitable interfaces.
* A mixture of incandescent/halogen lamps and LED fittings, requiring appropriate dimmers, relays and drivers.
* Lighting scenes and some motion-activated night lighting.
* I already have some Lunatone equipment for testing and am open to recommendations on the final system.

Scope and deliverables

1. Review the proposed lighting groups and controls.
2. Recommend the system architecture, controller, interfaces, dimmers, relays and power supplies.
3. Provide a parts list with quantities and exact model numbers.
4. Prepare clear first-fix wiring instructions and diagrams, including switch wiring, DALI bus layout and equipment locations.
5. Check compatibility and load requirements for the proposed lamps and fittings.
6. Configure groups, scenes, switch functions and sensors, with remote commissioning support alongside my electrician.
7. Supply editable configuration files, backups and instructions so I can maintain and adjust the system myself.

I would prefer a straightforward standalone DALI solution.

Floor plans, lighting schedules and details of the existing test equipment can be supplied. My priorities are reliability, manageable cost and the ability to make changes without ongoing installer dependence.
