I run an IT asset disposition, reverse-logistics, electronics remarketing, and recycling operation and I need a single web-based application that keeps every device visible from the moment we collect it until it leaves our doors. The core of the build is asset tracking and management with two must-have capabilities:
• Real-time location tracking – the system should update each item’s status and physical position as soon as it is scanned or moved, whether that’s during pick-up, in-transit, inside our processing areas, or on the way to resale or recycling.
• Robust inventory management – dashboards that show quantities by customer, condition, lot, and warehouse zone, plus fast search and filter tools so our team can locate any serial number in seconds.
Optional but welcome is room to grow into full lifecycle tracking, so keep the data model flexible.
Because this application will sit at the center of our workflow, it needs role-based access (intake, processing, sales, compliance, admin), audit trails for every change, and exportable reports we can hand straight to clients and regulators. A responsive browser interface is fine; mobile optimization for on-floor scanning is even better.
Acceptance criteria
1. Web app deployed to a cloud environment with SSL, user authentication, and a clean UI.
2. Asset record creation, update, transfer, and archive all log correctly in real time.
3. Inventory screens reflect movements instantly and stay accurate under stress tests of 10,000+ items.
4. Barcode/RFID scan entry supported (REST endpoint or embedded reader input).
5. PDF/CSV report generation per client and per lot.
6. Source code, database schema, and install instructions delivered at hand-off.
If you’ve built similar logistics or warehouse solutions, especially using tools like React, Vue, Node, Python, .NET, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, let me know which stack you’d propose and why. I’m ready to move quickly once I see a solid technical plan.
