Custom Lake Como Boat Poster – Vintage / Light Pop Art Style

The first upload is GPTs effort, to be honest I really like that and would be happy with a custom creation following the design.

I’m looking for an illustrator or graphic designer to create a high-quality piece of wall art for my apartment, based on photographs I will provide.

The finished artwork should feel like a stylish contemporary Lake Como travel poster, with some influence from vintage Italian tourism posters and light pop art, rather than an overly bold or comic-book style.

Main subject – my boat

The boat should be the main focus of the artwork, shown speeding across Lake Como.

I will provide several reference photographs of the actual boat. It is important that the finished illustration genuinely resembles my specific boat, rather than a generic speedboat.

In particular, please accurately capture:

* The overall shape and proportions of the boat
* The wooden components and detailing
* The distinctive red and blue stripe along the side
* Other recognisable details visible in the reference photographs
* The feeling of the boat moving quickly across the lake, including an attractive wake / movement through the water

I would like the boat to occupy a significant proportion of the image and be the strongest visual element.

Lake Como background

The background should show the Lake Como coastline close to my apartment, using the reference photographs I provide.

I would particularly like the background to include recognisable elements such as:

* The local lido
* A small number of the buildings along the shoreline
* The church tower visible in the photographs
* The mountains and landscape surrounding the lake

These elements do not need to dominate the image or be photographically detailed. They can be simplified and stylised as part of the illustration.

The important thing is that someone familiar with the area would recognise the location, while the boat remains the hero of the poster.

Typography

At the top of the poster I would like:

SCOTTI NAUTICA

This is the boatyard / manufacturer of the boat. Their website is:

I would like this text to be relatively large and an important part of the composition.

At the bottom of the poster I would like:

LAKE COMO, ITALY

Please take inspiration from high-quality vintage and contemporary Lake Como / Italian travel posters in terms of typography, scale and placement.

I do not necessarily want the company’s existing advertising copied. I want the final result to feel like an original piece of artwork.

Style and colours

The overall style should be elegant, warm and understated rather than extremely bright pop art.

I am imagining:

* A relatively muted / pastel colour palette
* Blues and greens inspired by Lake Como
* Plenty of white / light space
* Small amounts of red used as an accent
* Potentially subtle references to the colours of the Italian flag
* Clean graphic shapes and attractive simplified detail
* A slightly retro Italian travel-poster feeling
* Light pop-art influence rather than heavy comic-book effects

The artwork will be displayed in an apartment, so I want something that feels sophisticated enough to work as interior wall art, rather than looking like an advertisement or cartoon.

Initial concepts

I would ideally like to see 3–4 different visual directions / concepts before choosing one for final development.

These do not need to be four completely finished illustrations. I would rather see four genuinely different interpretations of the brief, for example variations in:

* Illustration style
* Colour palette
* Boat positioning / angle
* Typography
* Amount of detail in the Lake Como background

We can then select the strongest direction and refine it into the finished artwork.

I am also very happy for an experienced designer to recommend a particular artistic direction if you think something will work especially well.

Final deliverables

The final artwork needs to be suitable for high-quality, large-format professional printing.

Please include:

* High-resolution print-ready PDF
* High-resolution PNG or JPEG
* Editable / layered original source file where possible (AI, PSD, SVG or equivalent)
* Artwork at sufficient resolution for a large wall poster, ideally 300 dpi at the agreed print dimensions

The finished file should not simply be a low-resolution AI-generated image that has been enlarged.

AI tools can be used as part of the creative process if appropriate, but the final artwork should be properly designed and refined so that:

* My actual boat is accurately represented
* The Lake Como location reflects my photographs
* Details are clean at large print size
* Text and typography are professionally produced
* The final file is genuinely suitable for printing

What I will provide

I will provide:

1. Multiple photographs of my boat from different angles
2. Photographs of the Lake Como shoreline and landmarks I would like represented
3. Additional photographs showing specific details of the boat
4. Feedback on the initial concepts and final artwork

When responding, it would be helpful if you could include examples of similar illustration, travel-poster, automotive, boat or location-based artwork you have previously produced.

The most important thing for me is combining an attractive artistic style with enough accuracy that this is clearly my boat on my part of Lake Como, rather than a generic Lake Como poster.
