CSV Date Formatting Automation

I need a lightweight utility that turns any dates that appear in my CSVs into the exact DD/MM/YYYY format. The files are supposed to arrive in that structure already, yet they often contain variations such as “D/M/YY” or “YYYY-MM-DD”; I want a quick way to normalise everything before the data goes into our reporting workflow.

Here’s the flow I have in mind: I manually upload a CSV, the script scans every column (or only the ones I flag), converts anything that clearly represents a date, and gives me back a clean downloadable CSV while leaving non-date fields untouched. A small command-line tool or simple UI is fine as long as it runs locally on Windows or macOS. Python with pandas or a similar open-source approach is preferred because I may extend it later, but I can work with another language if you include clear instructions.

• A short README with setup and usage notes
• A sample “before vs. after” file proving the dates are now uniform DD/MM/YYYY

Acceptance criteria: when I run your tool against two sample files I will provide, every date will be in DD/MM/YYYY and the row count and non-date values will remain unchanged.
