Senior Convex / React Developer Needed to Complete Existing SaaS Platform & Migrate from Hercules
Project Overview

We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer with strong knowledge of Convex, React, TypeScript, GitHub, and cloud infrastructure to help complete and deploy our existing SaaS platform.

Our software is a cloud-based dispatch and business management system designed for towing, roadside assistance, and mobile service operations.

Most of the development work has already been completed. The existing system has a functioning foundation, including the CRM, backend, database, and various operational features.

We are NOT looking to rebuild the application from scratch.

We need a developer who can understand the existing architecture, complete the remaining development, resolve outstanding issues, and migrate the application away from Hercules.app to hosting infrastructure of our choice.

Our ultimate goal is to have a fully functional, independently hosted SaaS platform that we can continuously develop and deploy through GitHub.

Scope of Work
1. Review and Complete Existing Software
Audit the current application and codebase.
Understand the existing architecture and functionality.
Identify incomplete features, bugs, and outstanding development requirements.
Complete the remaining CRM and application functionality.
Resolve existing frontend and backend issues.
Ensure all features communicate properly with Convex.
Preserve the existing UI/UX and functionality.
Optimize application performance and reliability.

We want to build upon the existing work rather than replace it unnecessarily.

2. Convex Backend & Database
Review existing Convex configuration.
Complete outstanding backend functionality.
Ensure proper database synchronization.
Review authentication and user permissions.
Resolve database and API integration issues.
Ensure the backend is production-ready.
3. Migrate Away from Hercules.app

Our application is currently developed through Hercules.app.

We need the developer to migrate the existing application to independent infrastructure.

This includes:

Exporting and transferring the complete source code.
Preserving the existing database and application data.
Migrating all necessary assets and configurations.
Removing dependencies on Hercules where necessary.
Configuring the application for independent hosting.
Ensuring the migrated application maintains its existing functionality.
4. GitHub Integration & Deployment

We want GitHub to serve as our primary source code repository and development workflow.

The developer must:

Configure our company-owned GitHub repository.
Establish production and development branches.
Configure automated deployments.
Set up GitHub Actions or an appropriate CI/CD solution.
Establish staging and production environments.
Configure environment variables and deployment credentials.
Ensure future updates can be deployed directly through GitHub.
5. Hosting & Infrastructure

We want the flexibility to select our preferred hosting provider.

The developer should be able to recommend and configure suitable hosting infrastructure while ensuring that our company maintains complete ownership and administrative access.

Experience with AWS, DigitalOcean, Vercel, Cloudflare, Docker, and Convex deployment is preferred.

6. Final Testing & Launch

Before completion, the developer must ensure the platform is fully operational.

The ideal developer should be able to review the current system, understand our business requirements, identify what remains unfinished, and execute the remaining work without unnecessarily rebuilding completed components.

Communication and transparency are extremely important.

We expect regular progress updates, clear explanations of technical decisions, and communication before making significant changes to the existing architecture.

We are looking for someone who follows the agreed project direction rather than independently changing the scope or rebuilding functionality without approval.

We require full control of our application and the ability to continue development independently of any individual developer.
