Couples Budget Tracker App

I’m building a shared budget system for my husband and me and need your help turning the idea into a working tool. Every transaction—whether we type it in or pull it straight from our bank statement—has to land in the right category automatically. I want to be able to add, delete or rename those categories at any time so the file never feels locked-down.

Visual feedback is critical. A clean bar-chart dashboard should compare Planned vs. Actual for each category and highlight the moment we hit the limit. Because some envelopes are pre-funded from savings while others draw directly from checking, I’ll need a second bar chart that isolates checking-account activity so our true cash flow is crystal clear.

Here’s what I need from you:
• A shareable tracker (spreadsheet, web app, or lightweight database—you can suggest the best fit) that accepts both manual entry and bank-import data.
• Rules or formulas that auto-sort every transaction into my fully customizable categories.
• Two bar-chart views—one consolidated, one checking-only—updating in real time.
• Simple controls to tweak categories, planned amounts, and funding sources without touching the underlying logic.
