SAMVAD — Branding & Packaging Design Scope
Objective
Develop a cohesive Samvad visual identity + packaging system that can scale across multiple product categories, dimensions and price points.
The system should feel appropriate for a contemporary, material-led Indian design practice, with Collection 01 primarily exploring stone alongside metals such as brass/aluminium.
Packaging should balance:
Protection × Material honesty × Premium experience × Scalability × Cost × Sustainability
The packaging should not feel excessively luxurious or ornamental. The object and material should remain the hero.
01 — BRAND IDENTITY KIT
Develop a complete master identity system that can consistently extend across packaging, print, digital and physical applications.
Required:
• Primary Samvad logo
• Secondary logo / alternate lockup
• Wordmark
• Monogram / symbol, if appropriate
• Black / white / single-colour versions
• Minimum size and clear-space rules
• Primary colour palette
• Secondary/supporting palette
• Typography system
• Display/typeface
• Body copy
• Technical/product information
• Graphic language
• Grid/layout system
• Iconography, if required
• Brand guideline document
• Master editable artwork/templates
• Important: establish how the identity behaves on natural materials such as kraft paper, wood, stone, cotton/cloth, etc., rather than only white digital backgrounds.
02 — PACKAGING ARCHITECTURE
We need one modular packaging language that works across multiple product scales.
Level Typical products Packaging direction
S Small objects / tabletop Branded carton
M Vases / lamps / heavier objects Reinforced carton + inserts
L Large/heavy stone objects Double-wall/heavy-duty transit packaging
Sculpture / Collectible Heavy/valuable stone pieces Reusable plywood/pine crate
The exterior graphics should clearly belong to the same family regardless of packaging construction.
03 - STANDARD CARTON SYSTEM
04 - INTERNAL PACKAGING MATERIAL SYSTEM
06 - BRANDED TAPE RIBBON TEXTILE
07 - STICKER AND LABEL SYSTEM
Rather than one sticker, create a family.
Brand sticker
For tissue/wrap/closures.
Product label
Containing:
Product name
Product code/SKU
Material
Finish/variant
Quantity
Batch/serial if relevant
Shipping/handling labels
FRAGILE
THIS SIDE UP
HEAVY
HANDLE WITH CARE
These can still follow Samvad’s visual language while remaining highly legible.
QC label
Potentially:
Inspected by / Date / Batch
09 — PRODUCT CARD
Every product should have a standardized card/template.
Front
SAMVAD
Product name
Back
Short product story
Material
Process
Place of manufacture
Maker/workshop information where appropriate
Dimensions
Designed by Samvad
Website / QR
This is where the customer begins understanding the material + process + maker dialogue behind the object.
10 — CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Especially for sculptures, limited objects and significant pieces.
Include:
SAMVAD
Certificate of Authenticity
Product Name
Product Code
Material
Process
Year
Edition number, where applicable
Serial number, where applicable
Designer
Signature
Date
Potentially include:
Natural variations in stone, casting and hand-finishing form part of the individual character of the piece.
The exact wording can be developed later.
The certificate should have space for an actual signature, not just a printed signature.
15 — UNBOXING SYSTEM
Ask the designer to actually map the sequence:

Care information
Rather than scattering cards randomly inside the package.
For a stone sculpture, for example:
Plywood crate
→ open lid
→ product identification / story
→ protective structure
→ wrapped stone object
→ certificate in dedicated envelope/pocket
→ care card.
The experience can feel deliberate without becoming theatrical.
We do not want to design a different package for every Samvad product. We want to create a scalable packaging language consisting of standardized outer packaging, adaptable internal protection and a consistent system of labels, cards, tapes, materials and graphics. The system must accommodate objects ranging from small tabletop pieces to lighting, furniture and heavy stone sculptures while remaining unmistakably Samvad.
