I have received a 54-item notice to produce discovery in my divorce case and I’m struggling to decode exactly what each question is asking for. I need a knowledgeable guide who can sit with me—virtually is fine—and walk through every single item until we have a complete, attorney-ready response package.
The scope covers all three areas referenced in the notice: financial documents, property assets, and custody or parenting matters. I already have recent bank statements, tax returns, and investment records on hand, so part of the job will be matching those documents (and any others you identify) to the correct question numbers. Where paperwork is missing, I need clear instructions on how to obtain or recreate it.
Because the wording is full of legal terminology I’m unfamiliar with, plain-language explanations are essential. I want to understand, in everyday terms, what each request really means, why it matters, and exactly what satisfies it—no more and no less.
Deliverables (all digital):
• A brief, plain-English explanation for each of the 54 questions.
• A checklist showing which documents answer which questions, noting any gaps.
• A short to-do list for items still needed, with guidance on how to gather them.
Once the checklist is complete and every question has a corresponding document or action step, my attorney can file the formal responses. If you have paralegal experience in family law or have prepared discovery responses before, you’ll be a perfect fit.
