We’re a startup preparing to launch a new dating app in the United States, one city at a time. We’re looking for an experienced freelancer to plan and run our city-by-city launch: picking the first cities, getting the first real users, and building local buzz so people find matches from day one.
What you’ll do:
Choose the launch cities: recommend the first 1–3 US cities and the order to follow, with reasons (audience, competition, cost).
Build a launch plan for each city: timeline, budget split, channels and goals.
Get the first users before and at launch: a waitlist, campus and community outreach, local events, ambassador or referral programs.
Work with local partners: influencers and creators, venues, bars and cafés, event organisers, university groups.
Run paid social tests (Meta, TikTok, Instagram) on small budgets and report what works.
Keep the gender balance and activity healthy in each city, so new users actually find people.
Track results weekly: sign-ups, activation, cost per user, retention. Recommend what to change.
Turn what works into a repeatable “city playbook” for the next cities.
Requirements:
Proven experience launching or growing a consumer app in the US, ideally dating, social or community apps. Please share examples and numbers.
Experience with local, on-the-ground growth: ambassadors, events, campus or community marketing.
Hands-on with paid social and influencer campaigns on small budgets.
Data-driven: comfortable with simple dashboards and weekly reports.
Excellent written English. US-based or very familiar with US cities.
Available to start soon and work part-time or flexible hours.
Nice to have:
Contacts with US creators, college groups or event organisers.
Experience with apps that need both men and women active at the same time (marketplace balance).
