I need a detailed CFD study of several laboratory fume cupboards that routinely handle chemicals. The sole aim is to confirm their safety and containment performance, focusing specifically on three points: preventing leakage into the room, quantifying overall containment efficiency, and assessing operator exposure risk at the sash opening.

You will receive the 3-D CAD geometry, operating sash heights, fan curves and boundary condition data. From this, set up and run steady-state and, where useful, transient simulations in ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, or a comparable solver. Turbulence modelling, species transport for chemical tracers, and clear visualisation of velocity vectors and concentration iso-surfaces are essential.

Deliverables
• Solver-ready case and data files
• High-resolution plots and animations of airflow and contaminant transport
• A concise report summarising methodology, numerical settings, validation checks, and quantitative results for leakage rate, capture efficiency, and predicted operator exposure concentration
• Actionable recommendations if any performance shortfalls are uncovered

Acceptance is based on reproducibility of the setup, convergence evidence, and clarity of the final report.
