We're a logistics company, and we need a working rate comparison sheet that our team can use to compare carrier prices for the same shipment. This is a one-time project, not ongoing work.
Right now, when a client asks for a price, our team checks several carriers manually and writes the numbers into different files. It works, but it's slow and easy to get wrong. We want a single sheet where we enter the shipment details once, and the sheet shows the carrier options side by side, with the cheapest option highlighted and a short note on what affects each price.
What we need from you:
A spreadsheet in Google Sheets that takes shipment inputs — origin, destination, weight, dimensions, service type, and delivery speed — and returns carrier options side by side.
A rate table the team can update without breaking the formulas, with clear instructions on how to add a new carrier or change a rate.
Automatic highlighting of the cheapest option and a short comparison summary.
A one-page instruction sheet for the team, written in plain language.
A short handover call or written walkthrough so the team can use it confidently.
What matters to us: a sheet that works reliably, formulas that don't break when someone edits a rate, and instructions a non-technical team member can follow. Experience with spreadsheets and formulas matters more than experience in logistics; we'll provide the rate structure and the carrier list.
Deliverable: a Google Sheets file, the instruction sheet, and a short walkthrough document.
To apply, reply with a short note on how you'd structure the sheet, one example of a similar spreadsheet or calculation tool you've built, your fixed price for the whole project, and your email address for further communication.
