Business Manager / Executive Assistant
Position Overview

I’m seeking an experienced, dependable, and trustworthy Business Manager / Executive Assistant to help build, launch, and oversee my cleaning business. This person must be capable of working independently, exercising sound judgment, and taking initiative without needing constant direction.

The manager will have authority to make routine operational decisions within an agreed-upon budget, business plan, and set of policies. Major decisions involving contracts, debt, ownership, legal matters, large expenses, compensation, or significant changes to the company’s strategy will require my approval.

Key Responsibilities

Business Operations and Decision-Making
Oversee daily operations and make informed business decisions on my behalf within the agreed scope of authority.

Executive Support
Represent my priorities when coordinating with employees, contractors, vendors, customers, and other business partners.

Reporting and Documentation
Keep a written record of decisions, explain the reasoning behind them, and provide regular reports on actions taken, results achieved, and issues requiring my attention.

Recruitment and Team Building
Recruit, screen, interview, and recommend qualified employees and contractors. The manager will be responsible for building a five-person management team and assigning clear roles based on each person’s experience and strengths. All hiring and compensation decisions will require final approval.

Financial Tracking
Monitor revenue, expenses, cash flow, and other key financial indicators. Provide accurate updates showing how much revenue the business has generated, what it has spent, and its current financial position. Financial records must be supported by accounting reports and reconciled statements.

Business Monitoring
Establish systems for monitoring the company’s operations, customer service, scheduling, sales, and financial performance. The business may require continuous coverage, but this should be handled through proper staffing, automated alerts, and an escalation process—not by expecting one person to remain available 24/7.

Experienced Leadership
Apply previous management experience, practical business knowledge, and sound judgment to resolve problems, manage risk, and keep the company operating efficiently.

Regular Owner Updates
Report key decisions, operational concerns, financial results, team performance, and recommendations to me on an agreed schedule. Urgent issues must be escalated immediately.

Team Evaluation and Accountability
Before joining the team, candidates should provide relevant information about their experience, previous responsibilities, measurable results, and professional references. Any claims about revenue generated for past businesses should be supported by verifiable evidence when possible and shared only with permission from the former client or employer.

Management Expectations

I’m hiring an experienced manager because I need someone who already understands how to organize operations, build teams, establish systems, and make responsible decisions. I should not have to provide step-by-step instructions for routine responsibilities.

The manager must be proactive, prepared, organized, and capable of recommending the best course of action. I will remain informed and involved in major decisions, and I may request changes when necessary. The goal is to create a professional working relationship built on trust, accountability, transparency, and measurable results.

The manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies designed to help the business reach or exceed **$100,000-$200,000 in revenue while monitoring expenses, cash flow, and profitability.

The manager must also help establish secure financial procedures to ensure that all business revenue is deposited directly into the company’s authorized bank account. Business income and expenses must remain separate from my personal finances.

Employee and manager compensation must be processed through a dedicated payroll system, with accurate records of wages, taxes, deductions, and payment dates. My owner’s compensation or distributions must be recorded separately from employee payroll and transferred to my designated account according to the company’s approved financial procedures.

All transactions must be documented, regularly reconciled, and included in financial reports provided to me. The manager may oversee these processes but will not have unrestricted authority to transfer or withdraw company funds without my approval. Appropriate access controls and safeguards must remain in place to protect the business and its finances.

# Employee and Manager Compensation

## Regular Employee Compensation

Regular employees will begin at **$20 per hour**. At 40 hours per week, this equals **$800 in gross weekly pay**, before taxes and other required deductions.

Future pay increases will be based on individual performance, the company’s revenue and profitability, and its ability to sustain higher payroll expenses. Work schedules may also change according to operational needs. Any increase from 8-hour to 12-hour shifts will comply with applicable wage, overtime, break, and scheduling laws.

The payroll schedule may transition from weekly to biweekly. If that occurs, employees will receive advance written notice. At 40 hours per week, biweekly gross pay would be **$1,600**, before taxes, deductions, and any applicable overtime compensation.

## Manager Compensation

The manager will begin at **$30 per hour**. At 40 hours per week, this equals **$1,200 in gross weekly pay**, before taxes and other required deductions. On a biweekly schedule, gross pay would be **$2,400**, excluding any applicable overtime.

Manager pay may increase over time based on performance, added responsibilities, and the company’s financial results. All compensation, scheduling, and payroll changes will be documented in writing and administered in accordance with applicable employment laws.
