Building Envelope Engineer - Thermal, Water and Air Barrier Design

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
We seek an enclosure / building-science engineer to investigate a weather-tight, energy-conscious
10-inch-deep STEEL ONE modular wall assembly.

SCOPE OF WORK
• Propose preliminary wall layer arrangements and locations for air, water, thermal and vapor control.
• Evaluate steel/aluminum thermal bridging and thermal-break concepts.
• Develop conceptual rainscreen drainage, joint sealing and flashing strategies.
• Identify condensation, dew-point, serviceability and climate-specific design issues.
• Define required performance modeling and air/water infiltration testing.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES
• Concept wall sections and typical joint / opening interface sketches.
• Initial thermal and hygrothermal risk register with assumptions.
• Preliminary performance criteria and verification/test plan.
• Coordination notes for the structural and façade engineers.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Building envelope consulting or building-science engineering experience.
• Experience with metal-framed walls, thermal bridging and moisture analysis.
• Familiarity with applicable energy-code requirements and enclosure testing.
• Ability to distinguish conceptual details from tested assemblies.

HOW TO APPLY
Include relevant enclosure projects, modeling tools used and your suggested design/testing milestones.

PROJECT TERMS
Remote collaboration; initial scope is a milestone-based paid engineering study. Specify your fee and timeline.
All output should be clearly labeled by revision. Confidentiality and intellectual-property assignment terms will be agreed before detailed technical disclosure.
